Q4QS Weekly Spotlight (week ending 19th September 2026)

 

Three Players Who Caught My Eye This Week

Another week of grassroots darts, and this time my three selections are Steve Boundy, Edward Manley and Ellie Harwood.

Once again, this isn't simply about finding the three highest averages or counting who collected the most trophies. One player reached three finals during the week, another put together three consecutive tournament victories, while the third followed a run to an open Vault final by winning a ladies event the following day.

Three very different weeks — and three players who caught my eye.

Steve Boundy

Player Profile

Steve Boundy's record shows just how consistently he has performed across the events covered by Q4QS.

He has played 1,043 recorded matches, winning 849 of them for an 81.4% win rate. Across 148 events he has recorded 53 tournament victories, as well as another 14 runner-up finishes and 27 semi-finals. His current form is also excellent, with nine wins from his last ten matches.

Boundy's overall match average stands at 71.62, with a best recorded performance of 100.20. His record includes victories over the likes of Nick Eggbeer, Dom Taylor, Shaun Vernall and Geoff James.

This Week

It was the consistency of Boundy's week that caught my attention.

He reached three finals across the week, winning two of them. After taking the title at Minehead, he reached another final at the Sartan Club before finishing the week with another tournament victory on Saturday night.

That Saturday success required another lengthy run. Boundy beat Sam Wilkes, Cori Wiltshire and Louis Dance before edging Paul Meyer 4–3 in the semi-final. He then defeated Leon Taylor 4–1 in the final to take the title.

It means this wasn't one standout evening. Boundy repeatedly put himself in position to win tournaments across the week.

With 53 recorded tournament victories now on his profile and another two titles added during this seven-day period, his consistency continues to stand out.

Edward Manley

Player Profile

Few players in the Q4QS database have accumulated a record quite as extensive as Edward Manley's.

Manley has played 1,085 recorded matches, winning an extraordinary 917 of them. That's an 84.5% win rate, while his 163 recorded events have produced 64 tournament victories and 27 runner-up finishes.

He's also currently on a perfect run of 10 wins from his last 10 matches.

His overall average is 75.39, with a best of 107.36. That peak has actually been reached twice — most recently earlier this month against Morgan Dobbs at Duffy's in Pontypridd.

This Week

Manley's week was much easier to describe:

Three nights. Three tournament victories.

He won at Duffy's in Pontypridd, followed it by another Vault victory at County Cons in Cardiff, and then completed the sequence at Splott Albion Pavilion.

The Friday run was particularly impressive.

Manley began with a 91.09 average, before progressing through the tournament and producing 79.71 against Tom Breward, 82.27 in the quarter-final and 81.98 in the semi-final. Liam Forward was waiting in the final, where Manley completed the hat-trick of titles with a 3–2 victory.

Three consecutive Vault titles is impressive enough on its own. Doing it as part of a current 10-match winning streak makes the week even stronger.

Manley was one of the more obvious contenders for this week's three — but sometimes a run is simply too good to overlook.

Ellie Harwood

Player Profile

Ellie Harwood is perhaps my favourite example this week of why I don't want this feature to become simply a list of serial tournament winners.

Harwood has played 437 recorded matches, winning 251. She has seven tournament victories, ten runner-up finishes, seven semi-finals and 15 quarter-finals from her 81 recorded events.

Most importantly for this feature, her current form reads nine wins and just one defeat from her last ten matches.

Her overall match average is 56.06, while her best recorded performance is 83.50. Her record also contains three victories over Steve Boundy, including averages of 78.00 and 75.58.

This Week

Harwood's two days at Pegasus were exactly the sort of story I was looking for.

First came Friday's Vault 19 at Pegasus 68 Club — an open event.

Harwood progressed all the way to the final, beating Sam Leitch 3–0, Harry Cave 3–1 and Paul Gardiner 3–0 during the knockout stages.

In the final she produced her best average of the knockout run, 69.46, but was edged 3–2 by Ryan Greenslade.

Twenty-four hours later, she was back at Pegasus for the Ladies Round Robin.

This time she finished the job.

Harwood recorded six consecutive victories, including a 71.57 average against Kaye Megit, before beating Sally Chinn 3–0 in the quarter-final, Amy Pearce 3–0 in the semi-final and Shelley Cotterell 3–1 in the final.

So across two days she reached two finals, won one of them and compiled nine victories from ten matches.

That's exactly what I want the Weekly Spotlight to find: not necessarily the week's biggest average or biggest collection of trophies, but a performance that deserves a little more attention.

Yesterday’s Darts Results: Shaun Vernall Wins Champion of Champions as Two Players Hit 115.62 Averages (20th September 2026)

Another 47 tournaments from Friday 19 September have been added to the Q4QS database, and this was a particularly interesting batch.

There were two 115.62 averages, several strong Vault 19 performances, more junior results and two WADC events. But for my South and South West coverage, the standout story came at Evesham.

Vernall wins the Champion of Champions

Shaun Vernall won The Food To Go Champion of Champions Finals Night at Evesham Darts Competitions, beating Pete Hughes 5–3 in the final.

It was backed up by some excellent numbers. Vernall produced the best average of the tournament with 100.20, also recording 96.23 and 89.41 during the event.

Hughes was impressive too, reaching 95.77, while Joe Quiney produced a 90.18.

Vernall and Hughes both finished the tournament with six wins, with Quiney recording five.

For Vernall, though, this was the important statistic: another tournament title and one achieved against a strong Evesham field.

Two 115.62 averages

The biggest numbers anywhere in Friday’s data came from Kyle Ison and Roger Crook, who remarkably both recorded 115.62 averages.

Ison produced his at the Vault 19 event at Burghfield Community Sports Association in Reading. The title there went to Archie Self, who beat Paul Self 3–0 in the final and recorded averages of 96.97 and 93.94 on his way through.

Crook did turn his 115.62 into a tournament-winning night.

At Danny’s Bar in Banbury, he added averages of 97.14, 85.89, 83.50 and 82.44 and finished with eight victories before beating Michael Cuddon 3–1 in the final.

That is one of the more impressive complete sets of numbers I’ve seen in these daily reports.

Ellie Harwood wins the Pegasus Ladies Round Robin

There were two tournaments at Pegasus 68 Club in Taunton, including another women’s event for the database.

Ellie Harwood won the Ladies Round Robin, beating Shelley Cotterell 3–1 in the final.

Cotterell recorded the tournament’s highest average at 72.73, while Harwood reached 71.57 and finished with six victories.

The Pegasus Under-65 event was won by Peter Taswell, who came through a 4–3 final against Ryan Greenslade. Greenslade recorded the highest average at 79.11, with Brooklyn Anthony reaching 78.05.

Steve Boundy takes Saturday night title

Another result worth picking out came from the Saturday Night Money In Money Out Round Robin.

Steve Boundy took the title with a 4–1 final victory over Leon Taylor, finishing the tournament with seven wins.

The highest average belonged to Ashton Brown at 88.41, while Louis Dance hit 86.89 and Boundy reached 82.17.

More big Vault 19 performances

There were plenty more strong numbers among the Vault 19 events.

At Inn On The Green in Shrewsbury, Sam Morris took the title against Jake B-Smith. Jamie Chaplin produced a huge 107.05, while Morris himself hit 96.97.

Ashley Coleman was particularly consistent in Peterborough, winning the Vault with seven victories while recording 100.20, 96.97 and 93.94 among the leading averages.

At Worthies Sports and Social Club in Winchester, Jamie Kelling beat Henry Povey 3–1 in the final and produced a 94.60 average.

WADC titles for Millie Jolley and Kelly Stevens

And, as part of the continuing Q4QS coverage of the women’s game, I’m including the WADC events in these daily roundups rather than allowing them to disappear among the larger number of open events.

Millie Jolley won the WADC Vault at Fordham RBL, beating Amanda Harwood 3–1 in the final. Harwood recorded the highest average at 62.56.

At The Castle & Falcon in Newark, Kelly Stevens took the second WADC title, defeating Sienna Beck 3–0. Stevens also produced the tournament’s highest average of 68.32.

Friday’s standout averages

At the very top of Friday’s numbers were Kyle Ison and Roger Crook at 115.62, followed by Jamie Chaplin’s 107.05 and Kevin Leadenham’s 103.66.

Shaun Vernall and Ashley Coleman both broke the three-figure barrier with 100.20, while Archie Self, Marc Grace and Sam Morris were among those reaching 96.97.

For my own South and South West coverage, though, Vernall’s Champion of Champions victory at Evesham and Harwood’s win at Pegasus 68 are two of the results that particularly catch my eye.

Another 47 tournaments are now in Q4QS, feeding more results into the growing player records, venue data, rankings, form, head-to-heads and tournament histories.

Yesterday’s Darts Results: Paul Jones, Ryan Greenslade & Warren Rixon Win as 47 Tournaments Join Q4QS 20th September 2026

Friday brought another sizeable batch of grassroots darts into Q4QS, with 47 tournaments added to the database.

There were some enormous averages elsewhere — including two 115.62s — but closer to my main South and South West coverage, there were titles for Paul Jones at Bengeworth, Ryan Greenslade in Taunton and Warren Rixon in Bridgwater.

Paul Jones takes the title at Bengeworth

The Bengeworth continues to provide plenty of useful Q4QS data, and this time it was Paul Jones who came through to take the Friday Vault title.

Jones finished the tournament with six wins, eventually beating Jason Reeve 3–2 in the final.

The biggest average of the night belonged to Danny Lauby, who produced a 93.94, while Reeve reached 84.51 and Jones' best recorded figure was 81.24.

It is another good example of why these reports aren't simply a list of the highest averages. Jones may not have topped that particular table, but he was the player left standing at the end.

Ryan Greenslade wins at Pegasus 68

At Pegasus 68 Club in Taunton, Ryan Greenslade came through a close final against Ellie Harwood to take the title 3–2.

Greenslade finished with six wins, while Paul Gardiner and Harwood both recorded five.

Gardiner produced the best average of the event at 75.54, with Harwood reaching 69.46 and Greenslade recording 68.52 among his best figures.

It's another South West venue where the growing amount of data should become increasingly interesting as the season develops.

Warren Rixon wins at Bridgwater Darts Academy

There was another local title at Bridgwater Darts Academy, where Warren Rixon won BDA DiDo Week 7.

Rixon accumulated seven victories, one more than Reuben Avis, and beat Calvin Livesey 2–0 in the final.

Avis produced the event's highest average with 79.11, while Rixon's best was 68.32.

With the BDA events now feeding into Q4QS as well, this is another useful strand of the South West grassroots picture.

Andy Steed among the best at Galaxy Sports Bar

There was no title for Andy Steed this time, but he was again among the stronger performers at Galaxy Sports Bar.

Tony Clark won the event, beating Carl McFarlane 3–0, with both players recording eight wins.

Clark produced a 91.09, McFarlane a 90.92, while Steed reached 88.41 and 87.69 and recorded six victories.

Kirsten Casley takes WADC Vault title

The women's game also features in Friday's roundup, with Kirsten Casley winning the WADC Vault 3.0 at Briton Ferry Workies.

Casley defeated Rhian O'Sullivan 3–1 in the final. O'Sullivan produced the highest recorded average of the event at 81.54, while Casley reached 76.82.

The WADC events are now an important part of the results I am bringing into Q4QS, adding another layer to the growing picture of the women's grassroots game.

Two huge 115.62 averages

Further afield, two performances shared top billing across Friday's Q4QS additions.

Roger Crook hit 115.62 at GWRSA Club in Didcot, followed by a 97.14, 85.89, 83.50 and 82.44. Even more impressively, Crook converted that scoring into the title, finishing with eight wins and beating Michael Cuddon 3–1 in the final.

At Walderslade Club in Chatham, Ross Lowe also produced a 115.62. Lowe added a 96.97 and 93.94 and eventually beat Tony Fleming 3–1 in the final.

Steve Haggerty produces a huge winning run

Another particularly impressive performance came from Steve Haggerty at The Castle & Falcon.

Haggerty didn't just record a 107.36. His listed top five performances were 107.36, 95.94, 93.94, 93.94 and 91.09.

He finished with seven wins and completed the night by beating Cain Allen 3–0 in the final.

That is a seriously consistent set of numbers rather than one isolated big average.

Friday's standout averages

Across the 47 tournaments, the leading individual performances included Roger Crook 115.62, Ross Lowe 115.62, Steve Haggerty 107.36, Andrew Hibbert 104.86, Tony Chapman 103.66, Mike Breckell 103.66, Keenan Thomas 100.20 and Andy Smith 100.20.

For the South West-focused side of Q4QS, though, the main stories belong to the tournament winners: Paul Jones at Bengeworth, Ryan Greenslade at Pegasus 68 and Warren Rixon at Bridgwater Darts Academy, alongside another WADC event entering the database.

Another 47 tournaments are now in the database, adding more results to the player records, venue histories, head-to-heads, rankings and form data behind Q4QS.

Yesterday’s Darts Results South and South West (11th August 2026) – Hughes Wins at Bengeworth, Field Takes Salisbury and Harwood Delivers at the 49 Club

 

Monday brought another packed night of grassroots darts, with 29 tournaments added to the Q4QS database and plenty of strong performances across the South West and wider coverage area.

The featured winners on the graphic tell much of the story, but there was also one result I definitely wanted to make sure was included: Ellie Harwood’s victory at the 49 Club in Weston-super-Mare.

Pete Hughes takes the Bengeworth title

At The Bengeworth in Evesham, Pete Hughes came through another competitive field to take the Vault 18 title.

Hughes defeated Matt Metrovich 3–2 in the final and finished the event with seven victories. He also produced two 93.94 averages during the tournament, underlining the consistency behind the title run.

The highest average of the event actually came from Mitchell Leeming, who fired a superb 103.66, while Luis Cowley-Bryenton also reached 93.94 and Dave Honey produced 91.09.

Riley Milligan wins JDC VOLTS in Salisbury

The latest JDC VOLTS Series 7 event at Stratford Social Club produced a cracking final, with Riley Milligan edging Joshua Stott 3–2.

Both players finished the event with eight wins, while Milligan’s best recorded average was 77.74. Stott topped the scoring with 79.11 and also produced several other solid performances during a very competitive night.

Daren Field takes the Stratford Social Club title

There was more success in Salisbury later in the evening, as Daren Field won the Vault 18 event at Stratford Social Club.

Field defeated Ben Collins 3–1 in the final and finished with seven wins.

The biggest scoring numbers came from Robbie Martin, who produced 96.97 and 93.56, while Collins also reached 88.41 and 86.87 on his way to the final.

Lee Evans impresses in Andover

At The Wolversdene Club in Andover, Lee Evans produced one of the strongest overall title-winning displays of the night.

Evans beat Henry Povey 3–1 in the final, but it was his scoring throughout the tournament that really stood out.

He recorded:

and finished with eight victories in total.

That is exactly the kind of complete tournament performance that tends to stand out in the Q4QS data.

Ellie Harwood wins at the 49 Club

This is the result that didn’t make the socials picture but absolutely deserves a mention.

At the 49 Club U65 Round Robin in Weston-super-Mare, Ellie Harwood came through a very competitive field to take the title, defeating James Male 3–0 in the final.

Harwood finished the event with eight wins, the most of anyone in the tournament, and produced a best recorded average of 69.91.

James Male won seven matches and twice reached 83.50, while Luke Adams also finished with seven wins. Dave Dawson matched Male’s 83.50 as the joint-highest average of the event.

This was exactly why the 49 Club event looked so interesting beforehand: limited-average competitions often produce genuinely open fields, and Harwood made the most of the opportunity.

Gary Hiscock beats McCarthy in Calne

There was another interesting result at North Star Club in Calne, where Gary Hiscock defeated Josh McCarthy 3–1 in the final.

McCarthy produced the highest average of the entire day with a huge 112.73, but it was Hiscock who ultimately took the title.

Hiscock himself produced 85.08 and 83.63 during the event and completed the night with six wins.

A perfect reminder that the highest average does not always translate into the trophy.

Finlay Cleave wins in Paignton

At 8 Ball Bar & Sports in Paignton, Finlay Cleave claimed the title after beating Andy Steed 3–1 in the final.

Cleave won eight matches and produced averages of 91.09, 89.24 and 88.41 during his run.

The highest individual average there came from Carl McFarlane, who fired an excellent 107.36.

More standout performances

There were some enormous numbers elsewhere too.

Shane Turner produced a stunning sequence at Riverside Club in Wycombe, recording 111.33, 111.33 and 111.31 during a title-winning run.

Alec Small won at Wattsville with a 104.16 in the final, while Ryan Davies hit 100.20 in the same event.

The top individual averages across Monday’s data were led by:

Another strong Monday for Q4QS

Monday may have featured fewer tournaments than the weekend, but the quality was certainly there.

Pete Hughes won in Evesham, Riley Milligan took JDC honours in Salisbury, Daren Field won at Stratford Social Club, Lee Evans impressed in Andover and Ellie Harwood came through a highly competitive U65 field at the 49 Club.

With another 29 tournaments now added, the Q4QS database continues to build a clearer picture of who is winning, who is improving and who is producing the standout performances across the grassroots game.
