Yesterday's Darts Results South and South West – 1 August 2026

 

Another busy Saturday on the grassroots darts circuit saw 30 tournaments added to the Q4QS database, with quality action spread across the Midlands, Wales and Southern England. From major weekend opens to Vault events and local competitions, there was plenty to catch the eye.

The headline performance came from Ashton Brown, who lifted the Sartan Club £300 Summer Open after defeating John Brown 5–3 in the final. Brown was outstanding throughout the day, producing a superb 107.36 average and several of the tournament's best displays.

Over in Shrewsbury, Paul Rowley enjoyed an excellent day at Vault 18.0 – Inn On The Green, defeating Jake B-Smith 3–1 in the final. Rowley also fired a 107.36 average, underlining the quality of his victory.

At the Bostin Darts Champion of Champions, Dan Nicholls continued his impressive form by edging Grant Jackson 3–2 in the final. Nicholls produced another 107.36 average during the event and was once again among the standout performers of the day.

Wales also produced an excellent standard, with Edward Manley overcoming Timothy Jones 3–2 in the final at Vault 18.0 – The 9 Darter, Port Talbot. Jones fired the highest genuine competitive average of the day at 111.33, while Manley answered with a superb 103.66 average on his way to the title.

At Hangar 61's Saturday Night Round Robin, Matt Baynham defeated Cameron Oram 3–1 in the final after an excellent evening's work. Baynham recorded the event's highest average of 79.11 and shared the most wins on the night with seven, making him a worthy addition to the day's standout performers.

Elsewhere, Richard Smith claimed victory at the Deers Leap Open, while Jay Woodhouse lifted the Wych Elm Vault title with a convincing 3–0 final victory. Stewart Wilde also came through a high-quality Cue Corner Grandslam, defeating Shaun Vernall in a closely contested final.

With August now underway, the race for places in the Q4QS rankings continues to gather momentum, and another busy programme of events promises plenty more movement over the coming weeks.

Q4QS Rankings – July 2026

The Top 200 Across the Midlands, Wales and Southern England

July was another extremely busy month for grassroots darts, with tournaments taking place throughout the Q4QS coverage area and thousands of individual match performances added to the database.

The latest rankings bring those results together to produce a Top 200 covering the Midlands, Wales and Southern England.

This is not yet a complete national Q4QS ranking. It reflects the areas currently included within the main Q4QS results coverage, with players ordered by their overall Q4QS rating rather than by an individual regional ranking.

To prevent players with only a handful of appearances from entering the table on the strength of a very small sample, a player must have competed in at least six eligible events to qualify.

Martin Leads a Closely Contested Top Four

Robbie Martin ends July at the top of the rankings with a Q4QS rating of 125.89, but there is very little room for error at the summit.

Chas Barstow is only 0.31 points behind in second place on 125.58, with Archie Self a further 0.25 points back on 125.33.

Henry Cooper completes the leading group on 124.65, meaning fewer than 1.25 Q4QS points separate the top four players.

That provides a fascinating battle heading into August. One particularly strong tournament, or a short run of weaker performances, could quickly change the order.

Lee Evans Moves Into the Top Five

WLee Evans takes fifth place with a Q4QS rating of 124.24.

Evans has built that position across 187 recorded appearances, winning 175 and losing only 12. His 93.6% win rate demonstrates the sustained consistency required to remain close to the very top of the rankings.

Josh McCarthy, Johnny Haines, Sean Holley, Connor Hopkins and Kurt Parry complete the  Top 10.

Martin and Barstow Set the Scoring Standard

The two leading players also occupy the top two positions across several of the main performance measures.

Chas Barstow holds the highest Q4QS average within the Top 200 at 86.09, narrowly ahead of Robbie Martin on 85.45.

Martin has the stronger overall playing average, recording 85.90, compared with Barstow's 85.75.

Those figures help explain why the pair have established themselves at the head of the July standings. Both combine high scoring with an exceptional level of consistency over a significant number of recorded matches.

Huntley's Remarkable Winning Record

Mike Huntley sits 11th overall but has one of the most impressive statistical records anywhere in the rankings.

Across 463 recorded appearances, Huntley has won 442 times and lost only 21, producing a remarkable 95.5% win rate.

Maintaining that percentage over such a large sample is particularly notable. It is one thing to record a high winning percentage across a handful of events, but Huntley's figures demonstrate sustained dominance over a considerable period.

Archie Self is close behind with a 95.3% win rate, while Robbie Martin and Sean Holley have also won more than 94% of their recorded matches.

Experience Throughout the Rankings

The table includes a mixture of players who have quickly established high ratings and others whose positions are supported by hundreds of recorded performances.

Edward Manley has the largest sample among the July Top 200, with 848 recorded appearances. His record includes 712 victories and 136 defeats, giving him an 84% winning percentage.

Mike Huntley has 463 appearances, while several other highly ranked players have already passed 300.

That depth of data is important because it allows the rankings to reflect sustained performance rather than one isolated tournament result.

The Standard Required to Reach the Top 200

Corey Milward occupies the final published position with a Q4QS rating of 108.17.

Even at 200th, Milward has won 46 of his 59 recorded matches, giving him a 78% win rate.

That underlines the standard now required simply to appear in the rankings. The Top 200 is not just a list of occasional tournament winners; it contains players who have consistently won matches across the areas covered by Q4QS.

There is a gap of only 17.72 points between first and 200th, meaning the rankings remain tightly grouped despite the size of the table.

What Happens in August?

The rankings will continue to change as new tournament results are added.

Players near the top will be attempting to challenge Robbie Martin for the number-one position, while those just outside the Top 20 will be looking for the performances needed to break into the leading group.

Further down the table, the battle to remain inside the Top 200 could be every bit as competitive.

With tournaments taking place across the Midlands, Wales and Southern England every week, there should be no shortage of opportunities for players to climb during August.
