South West Round-Up – Cox, Gover and Humphries Among Monday's Winners
Monday night saw another packed programme of ADC Vault 18 events across the country, with plenty of quality on show throughout the South West.
From Calne and Barnstaple to Salisbury, Paignton and Cullompton, players were once again chasing valuable ranking points and local bragging rights as the Vault Series continued.
Declan Cox Produces Superb Display In Calne
One of the performances of the evening came at the North Star Club in Calne.
Declan Cox claimed the Vault 18 title after edging Josh McCarthy 3-2 in an entertaining final. Cox also produced one of the standout performances of the night with a magnificent 103.66 average, underlining why he is becoming one of the form players on the local circuit.
Gary Hiscock also enjoyed another strong tournament, reaching the latter stages before eventually falling to McCarthy.
Kian Gover Dominates In Barnstaple
Over in North Devon it was Kian Gover who stole the headlines.
He defeated Daniel Donovan 3-0 in the final after an outstanding evening that included a superb 93.94 average and nine victories across the competition.
Daniel Donovan, Ben Rigler and David Yeaman also enjoyed excellent runs, making Barnstaple one of the strongest Vault events of the evening.
Danny Humphries Wins Salisbury Vault
The Salisbury event produced another highly competitive field.
Danny Humphries lifted the title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Geoff James in the final after winning eight matches during the evening.
Geoff James continued his impressive consistency by reaching yet another final, while Liam Glister also enjoyed a productive night's work.
Luke Grantham Triumphs In Paignton
Paignton's Vault attracted another strong turnout.
Luke Grantham defeated Finlay Cleave 3-1 in the final, while Charlie Wiles recorded the highest average of the event with 88.41, narrowly ahead of Andy Steed, who matched the figure earlier in the competition.
Other South West Highlights
Junior Howard won the Cullompton Vault after defeating Anthony Cude in the final, while Jack Walker lifted the title in Minehead after overcoming Brooklyn Anthony.
Elsewhere, Craig Britten claimed the U65 title at Clandown Darts Promotions and Daniel Short continued his good form by winning the Unit 27 U65 Series event.
