Yesterday’s Darts Results – Humphries Stars at Matson as Drayton, Crook and Hedman Take Winmau Titles
Sunday was a huge day for the Q4QS database, with 67 tournaments added from 9 August and a packed programme of grassroots, Vault, JDC and major ADC/WADC action.
There was plenty happening across the South West, with Danny Humphries, Alec McCready, Scott Lawrey, Joseph Lauridsen and Josh Rose among the notable winners, while the weekend's Winmau Championship action at Bradmoor Farm also produced some big stories.
Humphries produces the performance of the day at Matson
Danny Humphries was outstanding at Vault 18.0 – Matson Rugby Club, Gloucester, combining the title with some seriously impressive scoring.
Humphries defeated Josh Witts 3–2 in the final to complete a seven-win tournament, but it was the quality of his earlier performances which really stood out.
He recorded a 96.97 average against Archie McChristie, followed that with 95.94 against Cody Kibble and also produced a 93.94 against Clarke Overthrow.
Three performances above 93 in the same event made this one of the strongest overall displays anywhere in Sunday's local action.
McCready takes Hereford title
At Hereford Military Sports & Social Club, Alec McCready put together another excellent tournament.
McCready defeated Chris Hurds 3–0 in the final and won seven matches across the day. He twice reached 88.41, against Connor Powell and Tom Clarke, before recording 86.71 against Stuart Hossack.
Zak Turner also caught the eye with an 86.13, while finalist Hurds produced an 83.50.
Lawrey wins again in Plymouth
Scott Lawrey continued his good form at Legends Lounge in Plymouth, taking another Vault 18 title.
Lawrey defeated Stephen Ebsworth 3–0 in the final, finishing the event with seven victories. His best average was an excellent 85.89, recorded in a 2–0 victory over Brody Cookson.
It adds another title to Lawrey's recent run and strengthens his position as one of the names consistently appearing at the business end of these Devon events.
JDC success for Joseph Lauridsen in Exeter
There was plenty of junior action on Sunday too, and Joseph Lauridsen took the honours at the JDC VOLTS Series 7 event at The Kings Pub, Exeter.
Lauridsen edged Josh Rea 3–2 in the final, producing a 73.32 average in the deciding match.
Both players finished with six victories, while Riley Cox won five and George Miller and Charlie Fone were among the other notable performers.
Rose takes the Under-55 title at Portishead
At Portishead Workmens Darts, Josh Rose emerged victorious from the Under-55 Sunday Lunch competition.
Rose defeated Freddie Harper 4–0 in the final after navigating a 60-match tournament.
Max Maggs actually accumulated the most victories with seven, while Oscar Lewis and Rose each recorded six, but it was Rose who delivered when the knockout title was on the line.
More success around the South West
There was another impressive winner at Swanage RBL, where Ricky King dominated the statistics as well as taking the title.
King beat Alfie Reeves 3–0 in the final and produced a superb 103.66 average, alongside further figures of 93.94 and 90.18.
At The Nags Head Inn in Cinderford, Shaun Vernall continued his remarkable run of recent victories, beating Rob Dumayne 3–0 in the final to secure another Vault title.
Meanwhile, the available Taunton results at The Queens Arms don't identify a confirmed overall winner, so I'm leaving the title unattributed rather than guessing. The scoring was strong, though, with Gavin Sterio producing 93.94 and Timothy Jones 89.88.
Drayton and Crook share the ADC Winmau Sunday honours
Sunday also completed another major day of action at Bradmoor Farm in the ADC Winmau Championship South.
Jack Drayton took Event 11, defeating Michael Wiles 5–2 in the final. Drayton produced an impressive 94.47 final average, having also averaged 93.50 in his semi-final victory over Asa Cansdale.
Then in Event 12, Roger Crook emerged victorious after edging Harrison Leigh 5–4 in the final. Jack Aldridge produced the event's highest individual average of 100.20, while Josh McCarthy reached 99.49 and Jamie Kay 98.64. Crook finished with eight victories to secure the title.
So Sunday's ADC honours went to:

Deta Hedman completes a WADC double
There was an even more striking story in the women's competition.
Deta Hedman won BOTH of Sunday's WADC Winmau Championship South events.
In Event 7, Hedman defeated Fallon Sherrock 5–3 in the final. Sherrock produced the event's highest average of 93.94, but Hedman came through with six victories and an 89.46 among her strongest performances.
Hedman then completed the double in Event 8, defeating Steph Clarke 5–0 in the final.
That makes Sunday's WADC winners:

Winning once in a field of that quality is impressive; completing a same-day double makes Hedman one of the biggest stories of the entire weekend.
Another enormous Sunday for the database
Sixty-seven tournaments in a single day illustrates just how much darts is now feeding into Q4QS.
Locally, Humphries produced an outstanding statistical performance in Gloucester, McCready controlled proceedings in Hereford, Lawrey won again in Plymouth, Lauridsen took JDC honours in Exeter and Rose came through at Portishead.
Add in Jack Drayton and Roger Crook splitting the ADC titles, plus Deta Hedman's superb WADC double, and Sunday provided plenty more than simply volume.
Another big day of results – and plenty more movement to come in the Q4QS rankings.
